New31DC: Day 1 - Black and White

Hi there!  Happy New Year to you all!!  Today is Day 1 of The New 31 Day Challenge!  I am so excited to be participating in this with a whole bunch of other awesome bloggers... I have been wanting to try a 31 Day Challenge for quite a while now. I also designed the graphic for this together with Debbie from The Crumpet, and I am so proud of it!  I am going to try to pull out all the stops for this, and commit to doing a mani I LOVE every day.  I hope you all enjoy seeing what I (and everyone else!) come up with.

I have been meaning to do a black and white water marble, so this was the perfect excuse.  As usual, I used my base color of OPI Funny Bunny.  For the bull's eye I used Funny Bunny and China Glaze Liquid Leather.  They worked well together in the water, and mixed to create some interesting gray bits as well.  I think the fact that they are both jellies was key to their working together.  This is a much softer look than you would get if you marbled with an opaque black and white, but I like that.

ETA:  I am also going to attempt to use as many untried polishes as possible during this challenge... for this day I couldn't, because I don't actually have any black or white untrieds.  But starting tomorrow I will be!

Don't forget to check out what everyone else came up with, and check back tomorrow for my silver mani!
