Pretty Serious Something Strange

Hey there friends!  Today I've got a swatch of a glitter topper from Pretty Serious Cosmetics for you.

This is Pretty Serious Something Strange, which is one of the polishes from their Hit The Road collection.  Its based on the Ecto-1, the car from Ghostbusters.  It has a mix of different sized red hexes, some satin white hexes, and a bit of blue shimmer in the base.  Application was good, and you shouldn't need more than one coat of top coat to smooth this.  I've shown one coat here layered over two coats of Zoya Dovima.

Pretty Serious polishes are available for purchase from a few different stores, one of which is Norway Nails.  They are 109 NOK each, and you can use my discount code (SMASHLEY10) at check out for 10% off your entire order.  Happy shopping! :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Fashion: Betsey Johnson Studded Dress

Hi loves!!  Here is my 5th Betsey Johnson inspired Fashion mani for this week.  This one was from this cool red and black dress.

For these nails I used two coats of Zoya Sooki, my black Barry M Nail Art Pen, and Joss Flash Diamond.  I freehanded the black parts with the nail art pen, and then I used a dotting tool to make the "studs" with Flash Diamond.

Check out what the other girls have done!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Fashion: Betsey Johnson Patchwork Coat

Hi again!  Here is my 4th day of DD Fashion week, and another Betsey Johnson design!

This time it was a multi-colored patchwork coat that I chose to recreate.

The polishes I used for this mani were: Cult Nails Nevermore, Kiko 336, OPI DS Magic, Cult Nails Feel Me Up, Cult Nails Kiss My Rose Bush, China Glaze Holly-day, and China Glaze Poinsettia.  I did the squares all by hand with a small nail art brush over a naked nail.

Let's see what the other girls came up with for today!

Lynnderella Tanzanite Truth

Hi loves!  So today I've got a gorgeous Lynnderella polish to show you... I'm doing this a little differently this time and showing you several different ways to wear the same polish.

Lynnderella Tanzanite Truth is described by Lynn as "blue violet, purple and blue glitters in a multi-shimmered clear base."  To my eye it seems that the small shimmer in the base is a blue to pink duo-chrome.  There are some purple stars in there, and some translucent neon purple hexes.  It really has the most lovely glowy quality to it.

This is one coat of Lynnderella Tanzanite Truth over two coats of Ciate Dangerous Affair.

This is one coat of TT over three coats of OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous.

This is one coat of TT over two coats of Ciate Mojito.

Lynnderella polishes are available for purchase from Norway Nails if you live in Europe, and from the Lynnderella eBay shop if you live in the US.  If you order from Norway Nails you can feel free to use the code SMASHLEY10 for 10% off your purchase!  Also, the prices have recently been lowered on Norway Nails for Lynnderella polishes.  They are now selling for 199 NOK each.

If you follow me on Instagram I will also be posting more combos with this polish there soon, since this is the Polish of the Week on the Love Lynnderella Facebook/Instagram page this week.

Which of these combos are your favorite?  Is there a color you'd like to see me layer this over and post to Instagram for you?  If there is leave me your IG name in your comment and I can tag you!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Fashion: Betsey Johnson Pink and Yellow Japanese Dress

Hi lovelies!  Here is my third Betsey Johnson inspired design for Digit-al Dozen Fashion week.  This one was taken from a pink and yellow Asian looking dress.  I really liked the color combo and the shapes on the dress.

To do these I used 2 coats of China Glaze Its Poppin' for my pink nails, and Cult Nails You're My Dandy Lion for the yellow.  I used my white Barry M Nail Art Pen to make the shapes before painting over them with yellow, and then outlined them with the black pen.

Check out the rest of the group's day three manis!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Fashion: Betsey Johnson Cherry Print

Hi darlings!  Sorry I'm running a day behind now with DD week, to be honest I just forgot that I needed to write this post up last night!  Oops. :)  Anyway, like I said last time, I'm choosing to do a whole week's worth of Betsey Johnson inspired posts since she is my favorite designer.

This one is a replication of this dress with a big, neon cherry print on it.

Unfortunately the neon didn't seem to translate so well in my photos, they did look a bit brighter in person though.

For these I used one coat of Cult Nails Nevermore as my base.  Next I drew the basic shapes of the cherries and leaves on with my white Barry M Nail Art Pen.  Then I painted over those shapes with my colors, which were China Glaze Hang-ten Toes and China Glaze Entourage.  Finally I went back in with the black Barry M Nail Art Pen and added the details.

Check out what my amazing friends have come up with for the second day of Fashion Week!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Fashion: Betsey Johnson Inspired Spun Sugar

Hi guys!!! Its Digit-al Dozen week again, and this month our theme is Fashion.  I am not the world's biggest fashion lover by any means.  I definitely like my fashion with a rocker edge to it though, so pretty much my favorite designer is Betsey Johnson.  So, I've decided to do a whole Betsey week for you this week!

All of my manis were inspired by pieces that I found by Google Image searching "Betsey Johnson 2013".  First up we have this amazing dress:

Gah I just love this one!  So to get the look, I did a gradient as my base.  I used OPI Funny Bunny, with China Glaze Beach Cruise-r for that.  Then I did the Spun Sugar techique with Orly Snow Cone.  I didn't put any top coat since that ruins the texture of the look.

The thumb and pinky were a little lumpy, I think I should have let the polish thicken more before I started those two, but oh well.

Don't forget to see what my super talented friends came up with this week too!

Joss Flash Diamond

(with flash)

Hi there beautiful readers!  I've got another pretty holo polish to share with you today!

This is Joss Flash Diamond, a sort of combo between a silver foil with a holo.  The holo was a bit stronger in person than I could capture in photos.  The first two photos here were shown with flash to get the holo to come out to play.  I've shown two coats without top coat.  This polish was easy to apply, no dragging or bald spots like some holos can get.

I've heard that this is one of the less holographic Joss polish,  but I haven't tried any others so I can't say for sure.  I'd be interested to find out though!
