Lynnderella Violet was the WILD One

Hello darlings!  Today I want to share a gorgeous polish with you that I am super lucky to have swapped for...  This amazing purple and green epicness is Lynnderella Violet was the WILD One.  Lynn describes this as "a complicated mixture of violet, purple, green, black and white glitters with iridescent blue sparks and scattered multiglitter. All in a clear multi-shimmer base with holographic microglitter."

I have shown one coat over Color Club Disco Dress and China Glaze Def Defying.  I almost always top my Lynns with Dior Gel Coat to smooth the glitter, and this was no exception.  I will say that this mani wore like IRON for me... I can hardly go one day without getting some chips or something, and I think IIRC, that this wore with no chips and minor tip wear for something like 5 days.

I was dying for this polish pretty much as soon as I saw it since its my favorite color combo.  I love the neon green stars, and there are some big holo purple dots in there too.  One of those is shown in one of the macros below.  My favorite thing about Lynn glitters like this is that there can be awesome surprises in them, stuff you didn't see and then you randomly pull something out onto your nail and you're like "WHOA, there are big old holo dots in here?! Who knew!?".  That is so fun to me.

I love that mutli-colored, holographic microglitter!

See the iridescent blue shimmer in the base?  It looks like tiny flakies to me... Soooo pretty!

And here is a macro bottle shot I took when I was playing around with a friend's camera.  Debating on getting a new camera, and his was a point and shoot, but it had a really epic macro setting.  What do you think of that shot?

Since this polish is a limited edition, it is only available from the Lynnderella Ebay Store in an auction style listing.  Prices vary depending on the auction.  Happy bidding if you try to snag this one! :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Skittles: Teal and Neutral Houndstooth

Hi guys!  I made it to the last day of Skittle week, without being late or missing any posts!  Wahoo!  Its been months since this has happened.  :)

For the final skittle mani I did another skittlette design.  I used one coat of China Glaze Tongue & Chic on my index and thumb, two coats of Cult Nails Let's Get Dirty on the rest of my nails, and then I stamped the houndstooth design on my middle and ring with Tongue & Chic and the Mash-47 plate.

Then I threw some glitter on my index and pinkie, because, well... why not?!  The glitter is Lynnderella Are You A Good Witch?

Have a look at the other members' final skittle manis!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Skittles: Fall Skittles

Hi lovelies!  Here we are on Day 2 of Skittle week with the Digit-al Dozen.  I've chosen to do some fall themed skittles for today's art.  I find that for skittles its easiest to write what I've done in list form, so I will do that again today.

  • Index - 2 coats Dior Czarina Gold, stamped with China Glaze Cross Iron 360 and Gals GA 38 plate
  • Middle - 1 coat Color Club Almost Famous, 1 coat Color Club Daisy Does It, sponged on China Glaze Riveting and Models Own Scarlet Sparkle for the gradient
  • Ring - 2 coats Ciaté Cookies & Cream, stamped with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Coco a-go-go and Gals GA 12 plate... after stamping it was a little light so I went back over the lines with a small nail art brush and Coco
  • Pinkie - 2 coats Dior Czarina Gold, stamped with Zoya Isla and Mash-50 plate
  • Thumb - 2 coats OPI Shim-merry Chic
Phew, that's a lot of different stuff!  I feel like I've used almost every different brand in this mani!  I guess skittles will do that to you...

Don't forget to go see what the other lovely ladies are up to this week!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Skittles: Red and Black Skittle, featuring Lynnderella Devil In A Black Tie

Hi guys!!  So I have been having a tough time keeping up with these Digit-al Dozen weeks lately due to my second job, but this time I was able to get all my manis done ahead of time!  Our theme this month is Skittles, which means using a mixture of different nail designs or colors in one mani.

The polishes and stamping plates I used in this design are:
  • Index - 2 coats Zoya Dovima, 1 coat Lynnderella Devil In A Black Tie (scroll down to the end of the post for a macro of this nail!)
  • Middle - 1 coat Cult Nails Nevermore, stamped with Zoya Isla and Mash 49 plate
  • Ring - 2 coats Ciaté Mistress, stamped with Zoya Dovima and Gals GA-3 plate
  • Pinkie - 3 coats OPI Stay The Night

I really love Lynn's DIABT... I like the mix of matte glitters with the holographic micro-glitter.  I'll definitely need to use that one in another mani soon!

Don't forget to check out what the rest of the group is doing this week!

Guest Post from Bénédicte of I'm A Nail Art Addict

Hey guys!!  Even though I'm back from the US now I still have one more guest post to share with you.   Bénédicte was kind enough to write this up for me and today is a great day to post it since I'm not feeling so hot this week and don't feel up to writing a post myself.  Enjoy this gorgeous nail art she did!

*********************************************************************************

Hi everyone! I'm Bénédicte from  and this my very first guest post =)
I'm a big fan of Ashley, her manicures are always sooo beautiful ♥ and I think she's the most pinned blogger on my Pinterest boards!!! So, yeah, I'm really excited to have my nails on her blog!!! :P

The mani I'm going to show you is inspired by the very talented French blogger Tartofraises.
Ophélie was wearing this Miami Beach nail art when I met her at the "Mondial Spa & Beauté" exhibition in Paris in March. I liked it so much that I had to copy this nail art :)

As you can see, Ophélie is way more talented than me, but I still like the final result. Unfortunately, I don't have neon nail polishes so I had to use bright colors instead... and it's not even a true rainbow gradient cause when I did this manicure I didn't have a bright blue in my stash :/

To create the "rainbow" gradient I used the following polishes : Illamasqua Obsess, OPI Call Me Gwen-ever, Cult Nails Feel Me Up, Essence Lime Up, piCture pOlish Wisteria.
I then added a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust.
For the "floral" designs, I used my Flexbrush black and silver glitter stripers.

Hope you like this mani as much as I did =D

And thank you so much Ashley for letting me write a guest post for you!

Liquid Sky Lacquer Twilight Rain

Hi lovelies!  Today I have swatches of Liquid Sky Lacquer Twilight Rain for you.

Twilight Rain is a dusty purple shimmer with a fine scattered holo glitter in it.  This is the type of scattered holo that feels a little gritty if you don't use top coat, so you will certainly need some if you want it to be smooth.  I've shown two coats with one coat of top coat.  No problems with application.

You can find this polish and other Liquid Sky Lacquers at Norway Nails for 129 NOK each.  Don't forget to use the code SMASHLEY10 to get 10% off your order!

Emily de Molly Rhodium

Hi guys!!  I am finally back from our holiday in the US visiting all of our family, and we had so much fun.  I'm glad to be back home with our kitty cats now though.  I hope to quickly get back into the swing of regular blog posting.  I also hope you enjoyed the guest posts I had for you while I was gone!

Today I have a swatch of a really pretty Emily de Molly glitter topper for you!

This is Emily de Molly Rhodium.  This is a mix of silver holographic, charcoal, and lavender glitters in a clear base.  There are some really large silver holo squares which look really awesome.  As with most larger glitters, some fishing is required, but I didn't put too much effort into getting that one on my index finger and thumb.

I really liked this glitter.  It was easy to work with and you can layer it over whatever you want since silver will go with pretty much anything.  The holo pieces were plenty holo, I can totally see myself getting distracted by this polish if I wore it during the day, haha.

I've shown it layered over two coats of Depend Nr. 2076, which is gorgeous but stained like a bitch!  And I used base coat and it was only on for a short period of time for just swatching.  The color is awesome and just glows, but I will definitely be doubling up on the base coat if I use this again.

This and other Emily de Molly polishes are available from Norway Nails.  If you are ordering from NN you can always feel free to use my 10% off code, which is SMASHLEY10.

Guest Post from Ashley of Ashley Is PolishAddicted

Hey guys!  Today's guest post is from a lady who was one of my very first blogger friends.  I helped her get a lemming of hers not long after I entered this wonderful world of nail polish obsession, and she welcomed me into some nail groups where I have made friends with so many amazing women.  I'm very grateful that we made friends.  She is Ashley from .  Thanks so much for being here today, Ashley!  Keep reading to see the nail art she's done for you guys today!

**********************************************************************************************************

Hello lovely Smashley Sparkles readers! I was so happy to do a guest post for Ashley to help her out while she's traveling! My name is also Ashley and I also happen to have the same favorite color combo as Ashley - purple and green! I thought it only fitting that I do some purple and green nail art for my guest post!

For this mani I started off with what is probably the best purple polish ever - AquaDaisy Shazaam. Shazaam is a one-coat purple holo that dries almost instantly. After it dried I used some striping tape to make random lines towards the tip of my nail. (Please excuse my extreme nubbiness, I recently suffered a couple of breaks.) I then sponged Kiko Sugar Mat 643 over the tape to create a "laser" look.  I love doing nail art with textured polishes - they are easy to work with and the make blending gradients much easier.

The color in my photos is a bit washed out. Shazaam is a bit more red toned and the Kiko is but more intense. The last photo is truest to color.

I hope you enjoyed this mani! I really loved it and enjoyed wearing it! This look is so easy to create and didn't take very long at all!

Thanks for reading and happy polishing! ♥
