Happy Easter!

Happy Easter/Glad Påsk to all my lovely readers!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful day doing whatever you choose to do.  Mr. Sparkles and I are just relaxing around the apartment today,  and roasting a chicken for dinner.

I did some cutesy pastel dots and stripes for this mani.  The colors I used are H&M Norwegian Sky, Orly Lemonade, Dandy Nails Flamingo Kisses, Depend Nr. 347, and Nails Inc Bluebelle.  The stripes have been freehanded with a striping brush and the dots were with a dotting tool.

Crumpet's Tri-Polish Challenge: Day 4, Stamping

Hihi!!  Here is my fourth and final mani for this month's installment of the TPC!  I was lucky that all my polishes worked for stamping pretty well, so I threw this little thing together.

Over a white base I stamped a pattern from Mash plate Mash-43 three times, once in each color.  As a reminder the polishes I have been using are China Glaze Surreal Appeal, Def Defying, and Gothic Lolita.

What is everyone else up to today?  Let's see!

Lancôme Jolie Rosalie with Gals Stamping

Hey guys, just a quickie for you today... I did this mani a couple weeks back with my Gals stamping plates.  I love the designs on the plates but they aren't the best when my nails are long because of the half moon gap.  I am rubbish at lining the gap up so it looks intentional, so I run into a problem there.

For the base of this I used two coats of Lancôme Jolie Rosalie, which my lovely husband gave me for Valentine's Day.  It is a pretty coral-pink.  I stamped over it with China Glaze Modify Me and Gals plate GA-8.  I didn't add top coat.

I guess these plates will be reserved for use when my nails are a bit shorter for now, because the gaps drove me a bit crazy.

Crumpet's Tri-Polish Challenge: Day 3, Stripes

Hi again!  Today is another installment of the Tri-Polish Challenge.  As a reminder, this month's colors are coral, purple, and green.  I am using China Glaze Surreal Appeal, Gothic Lolita, and Def Defying.

I couldn't resist doing a stripe mani with these colors, I'm addicted to them lately!  I started off with a base of two coats of OPI Goldeneye.  Then I freehanded on random stripes with my mid-length striper brush.

So shall we check out what everyone else has done with their colors today?

Pretty Serious Mummy Mush

Hello there!!  Today I have another polish I received for review from Norway Nails.  Another first for me, this one is from Pretty Serious, and Australian indie brand.  It is from their Monster Mash collection, and it is called Mummy Mush.

This is two coats of Mummy Mush without top coat.  In direct sunlight it is a gorgeous, glass-flecked, sparkling champagne color.

When you get it into indirect light, it starts to look more like a foil finish.

Then, at certain angles, this awesome duochrome pops out!  The colors of the duochrome are blue and a hint of green.  According to their description it has pink as well, but I didn't really see that at all.

Do you have any Pretty Serious polishes?  Which are your favorite?

This polish and more from the Pretty Serious brand are in stock now at Norway Nails.  Be sure to like as well for info on new lines coming to the shop (she is going to be the exclusive European dealer of Lynnderella polishes soon!), giveaways, and sales/discount codes.  You can also always use the code SMASHLEY10 at check out for 10% off!

Crumpet's Tri-Polish Challenge: Day 2, Gradients

Hey there!  So today is day two of  the Tri-Polish challenge with Crumpet's Nail Tarts.  I'm still using China Glaze Surreal Appeal, Def Defying, and Gothic Lolita.  I'm not super happy with how these turned out... seemed like a better idea in my head.  Anyway I hope they aren't too much of a fail!

I attempted a vertical gradient on my index and middle fingers... it was much tougher than I anticipated.  Maybe it was because the colors don't mix well, but I had such a tough time blending out the line.  I did the gradient with a sponge.

On my other fingers I did a reverse glitter gradient with something from my untried pile... Shimmer Polish Carmen.  I was surprised that it worked so well with all of my colors!  My favorite is the ring over DD though.

Yummy glitter!  I think Carmen is a great staple for my collection... it is a really gorgeous warmed gold, and it has lots of holo sparkle to it.

Let's check out the other Nail Tarts today!

Nerd Lacquer Nebula

Hey there darlings!  Today I have some photos to share with you of my first  purchase!  I actually already have one NL in my collection, but that one was from a swap.  I was super excited about Amanda's reappearance on the indie polish scene, so even though I am on somewhat of a no-buy I couldn't resist snagging just one from her first reopening.

I chose to get Nerd Lacquer Nebula on a recommendation from my polish bestie Debbie Crumpet!  As a bestie should, she knows my tastes well and I loved this when it arrived.

In the shade this polish is a deep red wine base with some silver, red, and iridescent blue glitters in different sizes.  This polish really springs to life in sunlight though... beautiful scattered holo goodness!

So tell me, what is your favorite Nerd Lacquer?  I've got to add some more to my wishlist!

Crumpet's Tri-Polish Challenge: Day 1, Water Marble

Hey guys!  Today is the first day of a new challenge that I helped to conceptualize with my pal Debbie from The Crumpet.  The challenge is called the Tri-Polish Challenge, and the basic idea is to choose three polishes and make 4 manis using the same three polishes.  I think this will be a great way to see different ways to use the polishes.  You can see the full post about the rules and how to join here.  The first 3 colors that I chose for everyone to use are coral, purple, and green.

The actual polishes that I picked to use are China Glaze Surreal Appeal, Def Defying, and Gothic Lolita.  I think they work well together because they are all in the same range of tone... bright but not neon.  I decided to do a water marble as my first mani because I haven't done one in ages!

So, let's go see what the other participants came up with, and what polishes they chose!

Ophelia's Sinister Calling

Hi guys!  Today I want to show you two more of the polishes I was sent to review from Norway Nails.  I've got A-England Ophelia and Femme Fatale Sinister Calling in this post.

A-England Ophelia is a blackened purple, with some subtle pinkish purple shimmer.  I really love the color, I just wish that the shimmer was more visible once it was on the nail.  It ends up looking mostly black, unless you are in direct sunlight (as the above photo shows).  The application was lovely though, I've shown two coats with no top coat.  If you are looking for an almost-black purple, this is your color.

I layered one coat of Femme Fatale Sinister Calling over Ophelia.  Now this one is definitely one of my new top 10 polishes.  Holy crap it is everything I could ever want from a polish.  Glitter with purple, holo, shreds, stars... I must have died and gone to heaven!

There is a beautiful blue glass fleck in the base of this polish that really comes alive over the dark base color.

I didn't have any problems getting the stars out and onto the nail, application was a breeze.  I did dab this on, since that it what I do with most of my glitter toppers.  I get much better control over the distribution that way.

Look how that bar glitter and star landed to look like a magical fairy wand!  That was purely coincidence and its so cute!

You can purchase both of these polishes from Norway Nails.  Be sure to like as well for info on new lines coming to the shop (she is going to be the exclusive European dealer of Lynnderella polishes soon!) and giveaways.

The Digit-al Dozen Does Geek Week: Geeky Owl!

Hi again!!  Today is the final day of Geek Week, and we have a bit of a surprise for one of our group members.  This month's theme was chosen by Kirsten from Geeky Owl.  The reason being that it was her birthday this month!  So, as a little birthday present to her, many of us have decided to make some Geeky Owl nail art.  I hope you like your surprise, Kirsten, and that you had a very happy birthday!

So for my mani, the base is 2 coats of Zoya Kristen.  I made the branches with OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys and a nail art brush.  The owl is made with Depend 350, Cult Nails Feel Me Up, Ciaté Headliner, Mash Black Nail Art Polish and a Cosmetic Arts no name taupe.  I used my nail art brushes and a dotting tool for him.

And thus brings us to the end of Geek Week.  How sad!  Get your final geeky fix from the other girls below!

The Digit-al Dozen Does Geek Week: Circuit Boards

Why hello there!  Are you so excited for more geek nails?  I really don't want this week to end... I'm loving these geeky manis so much.  Maybe I should have a weekly Nerdy Nails feature.  How would you guys like that?

So if you don't know what these are, they are circuit boards, or motherboards, like in a computer.  These were all done freehand with a nail art brush and a dotting tool.  The base is Zoya Veruschka, who is getting use a lot this week!  Is green the nerdiest color?  I think it might be...

I also used China Glaze Gaga for Green, CND Copper Chrome, China Glaze Icicle, and MASH Nail Art Polish in Black.

Don't forget to continue to get your geek on over at all my friend's blogs today!
