The Digit-al Dozen Does Black & White: Rock & Roll Texture

Hi guys!!  Its time for my favorite week of the month again... Digit-al Dozen week!  This month our theme is Black & White.  I really had so much fun with this because I think black and white designs can be so striking.  I also have just gotten my first MoYou plates, so this week sort of turned into MoYou week as well for me, hehe.  If you like to stamp and you don't have any of these plates, you need them!

So, on to the art...

I did this awesome rock & roll mani with a base of 2 coats of Kiko 646, the black Sugar Mat with silver glitter in it.  I honestly wasn't going to buy this when I was at the Kiko store in London, but Mr. Sparkles said he liked it, so I grabbed it.  Great choice, Mr!  I really loved this polish.

I stamped over it with my Mash Nail Art Polish in white, and images from the MoYou Roxy 01 plate, which is part of their Rockstar collection.  I will say that I ordered all plates with the XL size images, and they are WAY too big for most of my nails.  This is fine for the large pattern images, but for ones where you want to see the whole design, not so much.  My solution for that was stamping partial images on my nails.  For example, on the ring and pinky I stamped different parts of the guitar neck design on each nail.  The thumb got part of the amplifier stamp, though that went a bit wonky.  Still getting used to stamping with the squishy stamper!

I am super happy with how these turned out, despite the wonky thumb stamping.  This was definitely one of my favorites for the week.  I'm always going to be a rocker chick at heart, even when I'm old and gray, so maybe that's why I loved this so much.

Which MoYou plates are your favorites?  (I bought 8 so far, but I'm totally making another list for my next order already.)

Now its time to see what my lovely cohorts are up to!  Go check them out!

I love stamping over texture, it really adds something, I think. The black glittery texture is the perfectly mix of gritty and chic, and your stamping skills are amazing!

The theme of Rock & Roll fits perfectly with black and white! And your stamping over the texture is blowing me away! I can't even stamp on a piece of paper!

I actually like that you got the larger designs. I think showing part of the image is rather suggestive, and makes it more interesting than putting the entire design on the nail. Anywho I really enjoyed reading your black and white week posts. The designs on the MoYou plates are pretty fascinating and you've obviously got some skills girl!
