Hi guys! More stripes, yay! Today I did some stamping, and this kind of stamping is SO hard for me. I hate to use stamps that require me to line things up perfectly because I make myself crazy with them. I much prefer the more organic patterns. Anyway, I decided to give it a shot.
The base for this mani is two coats of Ciaté Fade to Greige. The stamping is done with China Glaze Split Perso-nail-ity and the MASH-39 plate.
Doing a pattern like this took a bit more of a learning curve because of using my new XL stamper... I discovered that if I press too hard with the stamper I will distort my pattern. Hence the nails that have some wave or curve to the lines. Oops! Oh well, now I know for next time.
Don't forget to go have a look at what kind of stripes The Crumpet and Manicurity came up with today! Kerrie from PishPosh, and Polish also popped in with some stripes!
I like these two colors together! I had the same issues with the XL stamper, I guess the learning curve is because it is kinda squishy? I love the thing but still haven't mastered the art of using it lol.
ReplyYes it is definitely from the squishy-ness! Try using a lighter hand, it really helped me.
I like that the stamp isn't laser perfect, it looks more handpainted and less factory stamped. Too perfect and they look like those nail strips which aren't nearly as cute as a real handpainted design anyway. The polish you used worked well for your stamping.
ReplySo great! I can't stamp at all so yours look fab to me lol!
