Although none of the songs caught on there are some fireworks during these performances". Palm Court Alley" (Idrees Sulieman) – 7:48.
Three of the up-and-coming hard bop trumpeters of the 1950s are matched up on this jam session-flavored set: Art Farmer, Donald Byrd, and Idrees Sulieman. Although none of the songs caught on ("Palm Court Alley" is actually a blues), there are some fireworks during these performances.
Supervised By – Teddy Charles. Trumpet – Art Farmer, Donald Byrd, Idrees Sulieman. Written-By – Art Farmer (tracks: A2), Donald Byrd (tracks: B2), Hod O'Brien (tracks: A3), Idrees Sulieman (tracks: A1, B1). Notes. Recorded January 26, 1957. The music here is excellent but the sound quality is mediocre. Everything is buzzy and distorted, the trumpets don't sound natural and when all of them play at once at some point they clearly overload the recording equipment. I'm not sure if it is the mastering or the recording quality that is responsible for this. Reply Notify me Helpful.
